For Hurumanu 1 We have been learning and studying about History, We had to answer a few Questions - What historical events In NZ do you already know? I wrote Te Tiriti O Waitangi,Matariki and the Musket wars. I don't know any relatives that have fought in a war. Recent events in our history are Corona virus, Mosque attacks and the White island Volcanoes. We are listening to chapters from Gavin bishop's book 'Piano Rock'. He says he values his heritage because.."Mum's dad was Tainui, from Waikato. It's enormously important and it's been a source of inspiration and ideas, thinking about what life must have been like for my grandfather and his siblings."
This is a great post Ayla. It's good to see your reference to past and more recent events. I hope you get to read more of Gavin Bishop's works (there are some in the library!:-)
