Summer Learning Journey 2018-2019 Prize

Over the summer schools can visit the summer learning journey the summer learning journey is to help for 4 weeks in total of your learning so you don't drop down you go up more.The summer learning journey has a topic each year this years topic is sustainability. each week you do a different topic of sustainability there are air,land,sea and the last week the big topic is like overall sustainability. you can win spot prizes or come in a place in the top 3 from each school each school has 3 winners but you can win spot prizes. You win by earning points you get 10 points for bonus activities completed you get 2 points for a comment to someone else summer learning journey posts.

Weather information report

For literacy in writing we could either write a information report about the pyramids of Giza or extreme weathers and I choose extreme weathers.

I found challenging to find facts about the weathers and set it up.
I found easy to write everything and put down things that I already know

Kenning Poem

In writing with Mrs Mc g we learnt about Kenning poems. they are an old Nordic style poem. They have 8 lines and always has a noun and a word ending in "er".

We started by learning that it has to be A and then 2 more words the end word has to have "er" at the end. the word in the middle has to describe that topic we done animals.

we learnt one together and done that one as a practice that one was the spider.

I found hard Finding some describing words for the middle.
I found easy finding some of the er words for the end of my Kenning poem.

How to take care of you teeth

We had to make a animation to teach a five year old how to brush their teeth. for this we are learning about Personal Hygiene in Health. It is good to keep clean so that the bad bacteria's in your mouth go away and keep the good one's.

Would you rather

For the first week of the the term for literacy we got given a would you rather sheet so for our work we had to pick one question and right a answer why we choose that one. I have two that I have chosen to do

1. A narrative is a story that is fiction. And some make connections to events.

2.There are different types of characters like the main character or any side characters.

3.I know there are 2 types of questions there are think and search questions and there are right there questions.Right there questions are something that you can answer right away.Think and search questions are something you have to think about then search for it in the text.

Where am I today?

we wrote on a slide where we think we are today and green would be not focused red would be focused most of the time orange is focused all the time but when distracted blue is were you can focus all the time and stay away from distractions.

Scientific method Baking

This term I have been learning about chemical reactions in the kitchen.

A chemical reaction is where you have one ingredient and ou mix it with something else and you can't take one ingredient out so say you have glue and glitter if you add them together you can't get them out of each other.

I found it challenging to make the observation how we done it exactly.

I really liked making the foods and watching them make a chemical change.

Quality blog comment animation

Today everyone made a animation on how to make a quality blog comment we looked at some examples and tried to do something similar mine is about a girl who thinks she can't make a comment the another girl comes and helps her make a quality comment with helpful thoughtful and positive because every quality blog comment has to have thoughtful positive and helpful

Calendar Art

For Calendar Art this week we have learnt to blend colours with paint.

I really enjoyed painting but I found it difficult to Get straight or right colour lines.
First we sketched and outlined then we started at the top and worked down.

My Anthology

For a couple of weeks now mr breaches literacy have been working on an anthology everyone has one. an anthology is a collection of poems I would like to show you mine mine has some limericks triplets cinquain acrostics some other poems from other people  four verses of a disgusting dinner and lastly one extras for experts.

Poems

For literacy we all created a anthology if you don't know what a anthology is it is a collection of poems. And we had to pick out some of our best poems out and post about them well I have 2 poems one is a limerick and one is a triplet poem.

Tree Season Art

For a couple days now we have been working on our art our art is a tree with the seasons the tree was coloured black and there were separates to separate the different seasons. we coloured them in the main colours of the seasons and a little bit of some other colours to blend in with. Like spring most of us done some flowers on green background and summer some of us done a sun on light blue autumn red orange and maybe a bit of brown blended in with some leaves winter some of us drawn a snowman on dark blue background and after we coloured and blended. after that was done we got some toothpicks and scratched in some designs likes snowflakes snowman's leaves and some other things. Here is an example of what we done this one is mine.

Pre Fixes

For phonics we do some word searches and the last one we done we choose four words that we found and I done a animation. The animation has to include the four words that you have included and picked from your word search.

My Pepe Ha

For week 9 we have to make a pepe ha. a pepe ha is your mountain,river,school,family and some  things like that but in moari and then memories it and  say it on camera. we started by making a slide and putting a picture of our mountain and write it and do that for the other slides then add a slide saying all of these sayings in moari then record it.

I found challenging: to get the video done because I kept on forgetting it.
I found Interesting : looking at others videos because it gave me more confidants on my video.

Making New badge ideas for the School

In Literacy we made new badge ideas for the school we printed them out once we printed them out we wrote on sticky notes comments and feedback on ways to make it better then we made it better using the feedback I made a slide show of my badges.

Bird feeders

STEM Technology

This term in STEM we have been learning about birds. we made some bird feeders to hang around the school first we cut out the front of the milk carton and and made a whole in the lid on the lid we passed threw string and tied a knot so that the bird feeder could hang then we hot glued some containers at the bottom of the milk carton and outside on the edge of the milk carton for the water and bird seeds

I found trying to get things to stay in place and to work because somethings were to heavy for the glue to stay in place so we had to hold it for a long time.

I found that the birds will have a lot of food and water now because some parts of the seasons there aren´t many bird feeders out so now they will be able to have lots of food and water.

My first winter sport trip

Yesterday Mr Breaches literacy class did a recount of something in the past to write a recount of. some people made a recount about there birthday some made them like my done there winter sport trip. we ended up playing against wigram there are two teams tictacs and magic I played for Magic we lost 5 to 0.

How I fell about War

This morning i learnt about what it means to be sustainable. A small change I can make to be more sustainable is walk to school use resuseable plastic bags eat food in season reuse destruction of nature

The miniature Door

This week in literacy I have been writing a story about a miniature door our goal was to get it done by Friday i did and this is my story. it is about a door on a wall that is really small and we have to make a story on what is behind it and how people can get in it.

In cyber smart i have been learning about being responsible with Chromebooks first we put our prior knowledge on a padlet. then we budded up and created a poster or inforgraphic about being responsible with chromebooks
I found it hard because we could only use 2 colours
I found it easy because i know alot about being safe with a chromebook
